Tsuba – element of the Japanese sword that separates the blade and the hilt.

For many centuries, Japanese masters have depicted everyday life pictures, landscapes and legendary subjects on tsubas. Thus, tsuba, as an independent art object, is of interest to connoisseurs of Japanese culture.

This tsuba is made using chasing and engraving on copper. The surface is patinated. Depicts a pair of koi carp, a symbol of perseverance and good luck. And also the Great Limit is a symbol of the beginning of all that exists, its unity and duality.
