Samurai helmet saiga zukinnari

The author’s copy of the helmet of a rare type of saiga zukinnari. This type of helmet is shaped like a square hat worn by old people, doctors and priests. Japan, Edo period, early 17th century. The original is kept in the Royal Museum of Art and History in Brussels.
Made from 1.5mm thick steel. Aged by natural rust.
